metastore software package provides Store and restore metadata from a filesystem, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install metastore
metastore is installed in your system.
Make ensure the metastore package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep metastore *
You will get with metastore package name, version, architecture and description in a table
